A comunidade portuguesa votou e vê uma vez mais um nome português na vereação do município de Toronto.

A grande viragem também na Câmara Municipal que elegeu Rob Ford numa vereaçãocomposta por 44 vereadores e maioritariamente pouco favorável a Ford.

Smitherman, George – Votes: 266,460 Voting percentage: 35.52
Pantalone, Joe – Votes: 88,811 Voting percentage: 11.83

In Ward 17 the Portuguese Tony Letra was voted in third place. Nothing new - unfortunately at the Toronto District School Board where Fifteen of 16 incumbent trustees running for re-election to kept their seats, including in Ward 9 Maria Rodrigues.
